Feeling Justified for Bad Behaviour - Trump, GOP reps, Mass Shooters

Donald Trump told an out and out lie when he said the election was stolen from him: he went to court, he harassed state officials, legislators, and the vice president. He incited a riot at the Capital. To this point he has paid no real penalty for his egregious claims and behaviour. His tactic of proclaiming mistruth has been adopted by some other GOP reps including Matt Gaetz, Ted Cruz and Marjorie Taylor Greene. They appear to feel justified about their claims and to be coping with adverse reactions. The same thought process may be at work with people who decide to take a firearm and shoot numbers of people in US communities. “According to The Gun Violence Archive, there have been at least 147 mass shootings in 2021 and it's only April. The Gun Violence Archive defines a mass shooting as an incident with four or more victims’. Incredibly unacceptable! What underlies the thinking of a person who shoots a group of people? I can’t begin to analyze them, but I am sure one thing is likely to be a belief that they are justified. The thought process may be —- if the President and elected officials can do unacceptable things to support their views and actions, then why am I not justified in killing multiple people to draw attention to my grievances. What a terrible failure of leadership by example!
